It has been unusually sunny in Amsterdam the last couple of weeks. I have been enjoying wearing denim for a while now (which is new to me, as I usually never seem to find the right fit until recently!), however I’ve noticed that I did not own any denim shorts, as I am more of a chino-shorts-type.
Knee-length denim shorts apparently have a comeback, so I decided to cut my utterly distressed denim from last summer (have literally worn them out) and make new shorts! The holes in the knees had become so big and I was simply not wearing them anymore because they did not look as neat anymore.
I did however like the light blue colour of the denim, as it’s so easy to combine with staple black and white pieces for spring/summer. The knee-length shorts can have a boyish look to them (which is cool – I would love it with a biker jacket!) however, I decided to balance the denim shorts out with a more feminine vintage blouse (as I was feeling more feminine today), bohemian headband and sandals with a block heel. Casual yet slightly dressy for a relaxed day of strolling along the canals and drinks at a local terrace.
I added a baguette bag, some golden jewellery et voilĂ , that was my look of the day! Now, where is that orange-hibiscus-Kombucha?
